Savvy Shoppers Leave Credit Cards at Home

If they have to have a smaller Christmas this year many in the UK are becoming more shopping savvy.   A larger proportion of shoppers this year have decided to not take their credit cards shopping with them this year.   It seems that only about one percent of shoppers will take plastic on a holiday trip in Wales compared to around twelve percent in the UK.  The economy has definitely had an impact this holiday season and many are deciding to make it a happy Christmas without spending beyond their means. 
 
The struggles of many consumers to buy food and medical supplies have UK customers deciding on a pay as they go Christmas.  It has been noted that many people in the UK have been saving more money to put toward Christmas treasures this year.  In a year when paying for the necessities has been hard it is a wonderful acknowledgment that the people of the UK have taken control in this manner.

Although there has been a change in some people’s plan to cut back on credit card use there are still some people that will have to use a credit card to make their purchases.   If this happens however, they are still planning on scaling back what they buy.  Many credit card users may already be close to the credit limit they have and some others have reached their maximum. 

The idea that you can have a great Christmas without putting yourself into debt has taken hold and that is one reason why people want to leave their credit cards at home this year.  The bargains that have appeared now that the holiday shopping season is in full swing have still not moved people to use credit cards.  The savvy store owner may want to rethink how they reward their customers by introducing various methods of saving them money.  Whatever shoppers do this year though, it seems that they will be leaving the high interest credit cards at home.
